Each 645 Crisis Cache Burial Tube (either color) contains the following:
- One 6" x 44 ½" Pressure Tested PVC Burial Tube
- One Threaded Cap
- One 12" x 60" Olive Drab Mylar Bag
- One 4" x 54" Silicone Impregnated Knit Camouflage Gun Sock
- Three (3) "1 unit" Montmorillonite Clay Desiccant Packs (33 grams, or 1.16 ounces each). Each desiccant pack will protect a space equaling .83 cubic foot, and the volume of the 645 Burial Tube is .73, so using 3 packs is redundant by a factor of about 3.4 (a good thing when your life may depend on your food and equipment remaining dry, as well as rust, mold, and mildew free). The desiccant packs are vacuum sealed in a Mylar bag and are shipped with a moisture level of 0 – 2%. As they will rapidly begin to adsorb moisture from the air, they should not be opened until ready to use.
- One tube of thread sealant compound (withstands 3000 psi in steam fittings). Two (2) lengths of ¼" nylon rope for making emergency "wrenches" (details provided with kit).

Apart from storing and protecting your rifle or shotgun, the 645 Burial Tubes have a great deal of spare capacity and are capable of storing hundreds of rounds of ammunition, as well as emergency food rations, space blankets, flashlights, fire starting equipment, barter items, etc.
NOTE: O2 (oxygen depleters) are not included as they are not necessary for firearm burial. This is because rust will not occur at a relative humidity level of less than about 40%, and the Montmorillonite Clay Desiccant Packs provide redundant protection against any remaining moisture.
NOTE: The firearm to be buried should not exceed a maximum of 5 ¾" in height and 44" in length. (The inside of the burial tube is actually 6" x 44 ½" but you need some room to accommodate the gun sock and the Mylar bag as well, so don’t exceed 5 ¾" x 44" to be sure the gun will fit within the burial tube.)
To determine these measurements, place the firearm on a level surface and measure the maximum height and length as shown in the diagram below. The tallest vertical measurement may be the end of the gun stock, or it may be from the level surface to the top of the rear sight. The 645R Kits will not accommodate most rifles with a mounted scope. However, the scope may be removed and placed inside the burial tube with the rifle. If the scope is removed after the rifle has been sighted in, when remounted it should be fairly close to where it was before removal. A few scope adjustments should zero the rifle back in.
Many longer shotguns (if the barrel is removed and packed side by side with the stock) will also fit within the 645R Kits. Generally speaking, shotguns with a total length of less than 44" will fit inside the 645R Kit without being dissembled.
